YES, absolutely! it is entirely feasible to operate as normal using Free Solar energy alone.
Solar PV refers to photo voltaic panels which produce electricity when sunlight shines on them. The panels are made up of multiple cells which contain a mixture of metals and chemicals that react to sunlight by creating an electrical charge which can be stored and used to power electrical appliances and lights etc.
Independence from utility companies, negate electricity price increases, clean free energy as nature intended, power cuts are no problem, improves energy rating of property and increases value. Lowers pollution and helps businesses reach green targets and reduce carbon foot print.
To be suitable for solar, a site must tick some boxes. You’ll need either some roof space or an area of land reasonably close to the location of your property, building , business to mount the solar panels on. the cost of cable is constantly increasing so whilst we are able to run underground cables for several hundred metres this does become expensive. the sun rises in the east and sets in the west so ideally the solar array will face as close to south as possible although anywhere between east and west can be used. multiple arrays can be installed also to make the most of the sunshine coming from all angles. your property will need space for a battery bank. we design the size and shape of this bank for each customer to utilise the smallest space possible.
In most cases no planning permission is required to install solar panels are they are considered permitted development. There are some rules regarding height of panels however and we will assess your needs with this in mind.
In addition, the following documents are required to legalise your system; those are, DNO Approval, Electrical Connection Certificate and Building Control Compliance Certificate, all of which we provide on every job.
You will be able to monitor performance of your off grid system and see in real time how many units of power (Watts) you are using at any moment. it is very interesting to see how different appliances behave and consume power and you will be able to see every device, appliance, light bulb when in use. also you will be able to check battery storage at a glance and see how much power your system has produced for free.
We provide a full guarantee on our installation and manufactures warranty on all equipment. As an example the solar panels themselves have a 20 year warranty. Other equipment varies from 4 to 10 years and we are on very good terms with our suppliers so in the rare event of a malfunction we will replace any faulty device for free whilst in the manufacturers warranty period.
We perform a free 1 year inspection on all installations and charge a small amount for further annual inspections. our customers are able to contact us at any time for support during and after the build.
Yes, we are happy to carry out repairs, maintenance and/or upgrades on your existing system.

Our experience has shown us that the average 3 bed home requires around 4 – 6 kw of solar array to become independent of the grid.
An average cost for installing a hybrid system including batteries on a 3 bed house will be between 11 to 15k although we do install smaller systems which result in a property becoming partially off-grid.
Our systems operate for the most part automatically and are extremely low maintenance. As a customer you will be able to monitor the performance of your system in real-time. The system is fully automated and does not require input, however, you are able to make any adjustments you feel necessary via the cloud app.
On average our systems pay for themselves within 5-6 years at current energy prices.

With proper maintenance your system will last for many years. panels last for over 20 years before they begin to drop a small percentage each year in efficiency. batteries will last far beyond manufacturers warranty periods as we design each install to operate bellow its full power thus reducing stress on the system which increases longevity.
